Emerson is a compact residential borough in northern Bergen County, New Jersey, situated at the southern end of the Pascack Valley, a cluster of suburban towns strung along the Pascack Brook. The borough's origins date to the nineteenth century, when the area was known as Kinderkamack and later Etna.
